We have dedicated the last 13 years to educating new planners, teaching best business practices and promoting professionalism.
We know what it’s like to start your own business; we understand the struggle of standing out in a competitive market, of being entrepreneurs. We have made mistakes and learnt lessons and just like you, we too recognise the need to constantly evolve and develop our business so as to keep up with our dynamic industry.
We run classroom-based courses to enable students to interact not only with their experienced tutors but also their fellow students. Each tutor has approximately fourteen years of experience as a full-time wedding planner, enabling them to bring real-life scenarios to the training.

We want you to launch a profitable and successful wedding planning business, so the support we give you doesn’t stop with our courses as we hold regular events throughout the year including an bi-annual seminar, educational workshops and social evenings. The UKAWP are very much a community and this is why our courses are so popular. Every student has access to our very active student Facebook page where you can interact with fellow UKAWP past and present students.
As working wedding planners, we know the job and understand its good – and frustrating – sides. This helps us train and mentor planners, lead the UKAWP and nurture and support our wonderful members.
What training courses do we offer?
‘Business Practicalities’ is recommended for those thinking of becoming a planner or to newly launched companies. It goes through the practical elements of how to conduct your research and how to ensure you launch successfully. We show you formulas to use in your business ensuring each service is priced profitably. We even hold mock consultations so you can gain a greater understanding of what questions to ask a bride and groom.

‘Step by Step’ is designed to help students understand the process of planning a wedding day to day. We run through the moment you are hired until the wedding day itself. We offer guidance on how to select a wedding venue and how to source those all important suppliers.
