Events 2012 Overview – 3rd and 4th Quarter
Whilst everyone is in the midst of the summer’s weddings, its easy to lose sight of life after September. We try our hardest at UKAWP to keep planning for the autumn and beyond. We thought it might be useful to let you know of the events we have coming up over the next few months. Where dates are not confirmed, these will be available soon!
Mix and Mingle
We’ve held an annual social event in September every year since 2007 and this year is no exception. It’s our one event of the calendar which is pure social; think of it as an end of season celebration. It’s a chance to compare notes, talk through trends, tips and support each other over a glass of wine or two.
Dates will be available soon for our three events, in London, Manchester and the Midlands respectively. All events will be held on a weekday evening between 18 September and 2 October so watch this space. The events are open to established and new planners as well as recent students of UKAWP.
Training Webinars
Following our successful webinar launch in November 2011 we will be running a series of additional ones later this year. The webinars will be a combination of topics designed for new planners and for more advanced learning by already established planners. We hope that the flexibility of being able to join a webinar online will appeal to many who cannot travel easily to other training we organise or have missed a previous session.

Workshops
We held various workshops in 2011 and early 2012 both in London and Wilmslow. Topics have included: Floral Emergencies, Fixing the Bridal Dress, PR Basics
We plan to run more workshops again from September 2012, if there are any topics you would like us to cover let us know!

Other Events
UKAWP members trip to New York – a number of our members are planning a trip to New York in October this year to meet with and learn from our industry friends from across the pond. We’re very much looking forward to it.

Late February/Early March – WPE ’13 – Wedding Planning Excellence
WPE ’13 ‘Wedding Planning Excellence’ was first established in 2009 and in essence is a training seminar for wedding planners. The directors of the UKAWP along with our members devise a specialised programme designed to inspire and educate you with your business, there are 2 days of intelligent, inspirational speakers for you to learn from.
