UK Wedding Planners at Hampshire wedding venue – The Elvetham

One of the benefits of hiring a professional wedding planner is knowing you’re in the hands of someone that has built a network of reliable wedding venues and suppliers. For that reason, wedding planners tend to spend a considerable amount of time interacting with such suppliers and familiarising themselves with wedding venues. The aim is to get to know the best the industry has to offer, so that our recommendations are always based on providing you the best suppliers that suit your wedding needs.
Familiarisation trips (aka Fam Trips), are one of the ways we do just that. They sound like work jollies, and yes, they are always pleasant, but they are time we have to carve out of our busy schedules and personal time to visit wedding venues. In essence, a fam trip is a trip organised by one or several wedding venues that decide to invite wedding planners to their properties to experience their service and hospitality. By the end of the trip, the hope is that we got to know the venue well enough to be able to recommend it to our clients.
It was such a pleasure when three weeks ago we were invited by wedding industry PR firm, Propose PR, to a fam trip at the majestic The Elvetham – a secluded hotel and event venue built in 1860, set in the heart of Hampshire, and surrounded by 35 acres of immaculate grounds and gardens.
On that sunny mid-week day, we had the opportunity to meet up with current and former UKAWP members, and spend some wonderful time together familiarising ourselves with this beautiful venue, its wedding offering and the team that runs the events.
After checking in, we were welcomed with outdoor drinks, followed by an afternoon of fun and useful activities – from a tour of the venue and an overview of their services, to a boutonnière-making class and a make-up session with a delicious afternoon tea – The Elvetham team lined up the perfect afternoon!
Later in the afternoon we returned to our rooms for a bit of rest & relaxation and reconvened for prosecco & canapé and an exquisite dinner in The Morning Room. A long imperial table awaited, decorated with beautiful flowers arranged by The Elvetham‘s florist Moutan. What a pleasant opportunity to get to know our hosts and mingle with our colleagues!
The following day we were treated to breakfast in the bright Conservatory, overlooking the perfectly landscaped gardens. And sadly that was also time to say our goodbyes. Overall it was the perfect educational fam trip – stunning venue, interesting workshops, great company, food and weather!
A big thank you to Propose PR for inviting so many of our UKAWP members, and to The Elvetham for the kind hospitality.
And such a pleasure to meet up with our UKAWP Members Alexandria Events, Always Andri, Raspberry Bespoke, Caroline Sian Weddings & Events, Inspired by Susie Evans, Elisabetta White, and non members but still friends: Katrina Otter, Matthew Oliver, The Bijou Bride, Something Blue, and of course, our UKAWP Director and wedding planner Bernadette of Dream Occasions.
And last but not least, thank you to the suppliers that gifted us lovely moments and exquisite goodies, including Unique Cakes by Yevnig, Flowers by Becky, and Catherine Taylor Makeup Artist.
