I loved it when…..

We recently asked our members to let us know what they have particularly enjoyed doing or sourcing recently, and why. Today we hear from Val at Benessamy about her recent drinks station search…..
What’s the most unusual/elusive thing you’ve had to source this year?
Planning a rustic country styled shoot earlier this year, I wanted to create an outdoor drinks station using wooden beer barrels as the base. It’s an idea that I have seen on many US wedding blogs, including Wedding Chicks and Style Me Pretty but I soon realised that the world of beer making and storage seems to have moved on – away from traditional wooden barrels or casks to aluminium! I contacted several local breweries, bars and restaurants. I even visited my local auctions (a great place to find almost anything!) but I drew a blank.
After much searching I discovered that my clients at Bawdon Lodge Farm (a veritable treasure chest), had something even better that provided the perfect base for this gorgeous rustic outdoor drinks station, styled for our wedding shoot by Darby and Joan Vintage. Who needs barrels?!
