Meet Associate Planner Member – Weddings by Angela

Delighted to be able to introduce you with one of our Associate Planner members Weddings by Angela, tell us about yourself Angela…..
Tell us about your journey into weddings?
My journey started into weddings late 2018 when my daughter asked me to plan her wedding with her for 2019, I felt so proud!
Following on from Samantha’s wedding plans, my now husband Alan had just celebrated his 60th birthday and I had celebrated my 50th, we had planned to go on a tour to Nashville as we are Country Music fans and with the help of a few friends, we got married in Franklin, Kentucky in 2019, in the same church as American country singer Johnny Cash did 50 years ago.
When we came back a little acorn began to grow and I didn’t want to do this as a hobby. I wanted to do this for a living and so it began with training and a chance to fulfil my dream of my own business as a Wedding Planner.
Describe your favourite wedding location (beach / city / country)
I would be biased if I said Franklin, Kentucky.
In the UK, I like weddings in Halls and Stately Homes, places that are set in their own grounds, with beautiful back drops, landscapes and scenery.
Ultimate wedding theme you’d love to be a part of
Although I don’t do destination wedding’s, I would love to be a part of a beach wedding in Mauritius or a lovely Greek Island like Santorini. I would also enjoy fairy-tale, vintage and glitz/jazz themes.
What 3 words would clients use to describe you?
Confident, Professional, Organised
How do you unwind?
In my spare time I like to do line dancing, listen to both UK and American Country Music, going to festivals and gigs. I am also a big fan of going to The World Snooker Championships held annually at The Crucible in Sheffield. I also like to read (occasionally). Spending time with my family, going for walks etc.,
Best piece of business advice given?
Never give up on a good thing, never surrender!
Research before jumping in with both feet.
Tell us something random about you
My favourite saying is “This is me” if you can’t be yourself then who can you be ……!
My husband calls me “the wild one” ….. especially when I have worn nothing but my PJ’s for a few days!
