Tell us about your journey into weddings?

Working in event management from the age of 16 I knew I had a passion for attention to detail and loved working with people, building relationships and creating events that were not only memorable but truly immersive experiences. In 2009 was asked by a friend to step in to plan their wedding with just three months’ notice. That wedding taught me so much in a short space of time, but most importantly it confirmed to me that wedding planning was my thing. I loved it, everything about it. Working alongside a couple to bring their dream day to a reality, there really isn’t anything better.

 

Describe your favourite wedding location (beach / city / country)

I love working in the countryside, there are just so many options available to you. I live in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and am spoilt with the amount of amazing venues and suppliers in my local area.

 

Ultimate wedding theme you’d love to be a part of

It sounds cheesy, and is very far from my usual style, maybe that’s why… I’d love to work with a Disney theme, taking a fairy tale story and weaving through the day, making personal to the couple, their friends and family.

 

What 3 words would clients use to describe you?

Trusted, knowledgeable and joyful

 

How do you unwind?

A long walk, on my own in the countryside, headphones on, listening to music I grew up with, singing out loud.

 

Best piece of business advice given?

Listen. A client, and now friend of mine once said to me that the single most important thing in business (and I believe life) is to listen. Whether it’s a couple, supplier or family member, listening to what someone has to say tells you so much about a situation and gives you with the knowledge that you need to react or not as the case can sometimes be.

My first pet as an adult was a green amazon parrot, he was the most adorable thing and I miss him dearly.
