Member Focus – By Siobhan Louise

Delighted to be able to introduce to you By Siobhan Louise, one of our associate wedding planners, over to you Siobhan….

How did it all start?

I have been planning events and weddings since I was 24, which is just over 10 years ago (I realise I have just given away my age!!). It all started with a very lucky opportunity working in a hotel as their Event Coordinator and my love and passion for this industry just grew from there. I then went on to work in a few different venues in London, progressing from an Event Coordinator to running my own Event Sales department. I have always found I migrated back towards weddings, so it was only a natural step to start my own wedding planning business.

Do you have a favourite venue?

I have had to think about this really hard as there are so many venues out there that are just stunning, but if I really had to, I would have to say the Royal Garden of Kew. It really is like having a part of heaven right here in London!

How would clients describe you?

Caring, fun, efficient, loyal and meticulous.

Wedding planners or suppliers you particularly admire?

Oooooo there are so many! It wouldn’t be fair to not mention them all!

How do you unwind?

A long hot bath, scented candles, a really good book and a big glass of wine!

What trends are you seeing for 2019/20?

What with 2018 being the year of royal weddings, I envisage elements from these weddings playing a massive part this year! With simple and classic wedding dresses, wax seals, flower arches and opulent wedding cakes.

There are a lot of people being more conscious of the environment too, which will mean that there will definitely be an increase in eco-friendly and conscious weddings.

What is your signature dish?

I absolutely adore cooking and you’ll often find me cooking up a storm in our tiny kitchen. My signature dish would have to be a pepper crusted rack of lamb, with buttered spinach and creamy dauphinoise.

Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love work on?

It would’ve had to have been Priyanka Chopra’s and Nick Jonas’s wedding for various reasons. The main reason being their different cultural backgrounds, characters and personalities and how they fused this altogether into a wedding that only dreams are made of! They really created an amazing celebration, really taking into account everything that they are together and who they are as individuals! Just amazing!

What is your vice?

It’s definitely got be a gin and tonic, that or rosé!
