Lovely to be able to introduce By Christina-Marie, Tell us about yourself Christina…
How did it all start?
I will never forget how it all started, my wedding planning love…
I was at a friends wedding, styled and coordinated by a professional wedding planner. Everything flowed so seamlessly on the day. The bride and groom, as well as all of us guests, were having the time of our lives! Oh, and did I mention it was all jaw-droppingly gorgeous?! This wedding experience inspired me to learn all there is about weddings and event organisation.
I made my plan to open my own business and cater to couples like myself and my partner. Couples who have a hectic day to day life, work full-time, have family commitments and a busy social calendar. Couples who want to continue with their normal everyday life, but plan their own personal wedding in style without being stressed. And I was going to help them make it happen without spending a fortune!
Do you have a favourite venue?
Burgh Island is definitely my favourite wedding venue I have worked with so far. The private hotel is on a small tidal island off the coast of Devon. You can only access it at low tide or via a sea tractor. Everything is styled beautifully in the ’30s glamour. I love the exclusivity, style and feeling of having stepped through to another world.
I can’t wait to see what other special and unusual places the future holds
How would clients describe you?
My clients always describe me as their beacon of calm, which I am very proud of. Other attributes couples often used to describe are extremely organised, discreet, charming and knowledgeable with great attention to detail.
Wedding planners or suppliers you particularly admire?
I have admired Christina Verger’s weddings for a while now. She coordinates gorgeous stylish weddings in stunning destinations across the world and is based in New York. My favourite wedding she planned was up a mountain where everything had to be transported up with the lift!
How do you unwind?
I unwind by going on a long walk with my cocker spaniel or going to the coast (I love the sea!). On other days you can usually find me doing something active like playing volleyball or skiing. During the winter time especially, I feel the need to be creative. You can often find me painting or sketching a portrait, doing macrame or hand making Christmas decorations.
What trends are you seeing for 2017/18?
I am predicting that gemstone colours are going to be huge next year. From ruby red to emerald green, I think it’s going to be all about beautiful, strong colour palettes. On another note, colourful wedding dresses also seem to be trending, so keep an eye out for a whole new range of styles for wedding dresses, too.
What is your signature dish?
Oh, this is a good question, especially as I looooove baking. I am probably best known for my Austrian cake recipes and Christmas cookies.
Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love work on?
I would love to work on Emma Watson’s wedding. I think she has a great sense of style and has done some incredible work to make the world a better place, since her Harry Potter movies. She knows what she wants, is always super friendly and super stylish.
What is your vice?
To be honest, I am quite impatient… When I know what I want, I want it immediately and hate waiting for things to happen. But I am not happy to settle for anything less than perfect! So that can frustrate me at times until I have found or made THE ideal thing.
