Today we introduce you to lovely Erica who runs Ell Event. Over to you lovely lady…..
How did it all start?
For as long as I can remember I have always loved organising events. Since I was very young I have always been involved with the organization of events for the school and if there was not an upcoming event, my friends and I would come up with something. I also love, love, love interior design, I enjoy so much the process of finding the perfect colour combinations and pieces for a room.
Work life has taken me through lots of wonderful paths and fantastic experiences that I will never regret, but I am a true believer that everyone has that one special talent, and I always felt I wasn’t really using mine.
Years passed, and from a combination of many professional and personal factors, and after having had two beautiful and amazing children, I though it was time for me to put all my talents into use, so that’s how my corporate event planning career started. I soon realised that by working in the event and wedding industry I had an opportunity to pursue my dream.
Do you have a favourite venue?
No, I don’t have a specific favourite venue. However I love anything that is surrounded by nature.
How would clients describe you?
Friendly, bubbly and always with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Which Wedding planners or suppliers do you particularly admire?
I am sure I will meet lots of amazing planners and suppliers in the industry, but so far Sandy and Bernadette are my idol planners, maybe because I have learnt so much from them and I love their professionalism.
How do you unwind?
Ok, maybe this is odd, but I find by laying down and gazing upwards it makes me feel relaxed and peaceful. It feels like I am putting my problem aside, and thoughts seem to come in a more peaceful way.
What trends are you seeing for 2017/18?
I would like to see a change on the typical English wedding menu but maybe this won’t happen so soon, ha, ha… sorry being Spanish this is a very important factor in a wedding and you do see that in Spanish weddings.
Design wise, I think painted cakes are going to be more and more popular, and a mixture of metallics is going to prevail for a bit longer, gold with silver, rose gold and copper.
What is your signature dish?
Aside from my lovely paella, I would say Salmon en croute, everyone loves it!
Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love to work on?
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux. I love Jennifer, she seems my ideal bride, so warm and fun.
What is your vice?
Sweets; they make me feel like a child again.
That’s so lovely Ell’ Event – and so kind of you to give the pair of us a shout out xx
