Emily Andrew

Wonderful to be able to introduce you to Emily Andrew Weddings & Events, over to you Emily…..

How did it all start?

When I had my daughter seven years ago we always knew I would need a career change. I was previously a buyer for a blue-chip company which involved lots of international travel and very long days – not compatible with family life! Anyhow, I decided I would take the opportunity to do something I really had a passion for and the first thing that sprung to mind was Event Planning. I was always being asked to organise events for charities and friends and I absolutely loved planning my own wedding so I took a distance learning course to formalise my knowledge, set-up my own website and the rest, as they say, is history!

Do you have a favourite venue?

An empty field! I love having a blank canvas to create something really special that fits my clients dreams and budgets!

How would clients describe you?

Knowledgeable, friendly and professional.

Wedding planners or suppliers you particularly admire?

Where to start! There are so many amazing wedding suppliers, I absolutely love this industry for the creativity and determination of those involved.

How do you unwind?

I love spending time with my family, we have two little ones and two crazy cocker spaniels! Long walks in the countryside and along the beach are the best way to tire us all out!

What trends are you seeing for 2018/19?

I think couples are still trying to personalise their days as much as they can and not just with decor, food and drink are being selected based on their travels/passions/local influences. From a style point of view I am seeing couples being bolder and braver with their colours and decor. Neon lighting is looking hot for this year and next, as well as Industrial influences such as untreated wood furniture, metal chairs, and statement, exposed light bulbs. These are then given a slightly softer edge with textiles being layered into the look, whether it’s silks, linens or velvets.

What is your signature dish?

I love cooking but I guess the meal I get the most satisfaction out of cooking is a good traditional Roast, mainly because I know it is one meal the whole family will eat without complaints!!

What is your vice?

I have recently discovered Charlotte Tilbury make-up, and I have become a sucker for her eye pallets – they are sublime.
