How did it all start?

I have always dreamed of owning a company and doing the work that I love the most. However, these dreams had to be pushed to the back of my mind as reality set in after earning my degree in Business Administration. I moved from one company to another whilst climbing the corporate ladder but, though in the corporate world, my involvement in corporate events and weddings continued even after I earned my Masters Degree. I gained a lot of experience that prepared me for what will happen in the future.

It was not until 2013, when I fully planned 2 weddings plus private parties and corporate events, that my desire and dream once again resurfaced and awakened. I registered my company and began marrying the experience, skills and knowledge I earned through the years to the theoretical framework, learnt from QC Event School and UK Alliance for Wedding Planner.

Do you have a favourite venue?

There are so many venues I love but it depends on the type and style of wedding. If I will only choose one, I love Wotton House near Dorking, Surrey. The long driveway to the property with well maintained grounds on both side of the private road makes you appreciate the grandeur you are about to see. The end of the road where you will find the 17th century house doesn’t disappoint.

The Old Library with vaulted ceiling and romantic columns is a perfect backdrop for the ceremony. The venue is very flexible for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. They have extensive manicured grounds including 17th Century Italian gardens which are perfect for your out-door ceremony, most especially in the spring and summer. Inside the building I also love the different function rooms which you can use according to your requirements. The venue offers the opportunity to create the atmosphere and feel that you want to achieve using you creativity and ingenuity.

How would clients describe you?

Friendly, thoughtful, professional, focused but very insistent to adhere to the schedule. Impeccable organisation skills with attention to detail that is second to none. Very passionate in delivering a high standard of service and making the event special.

Wedding planners or suppliers you particularly admire?

I admire and respect Sarah Haywood not only for the success of her career but for her ability to innovate and deliver such wonderful, flawless and luxurious weddings. She made her name in the industry not only here in the UK but also in the rest of the world.

How do you unwind?

I meditate to relieve stress and spend a quiet time within the four corners of my room. I also love to read romantic comedy, mysteries and suspense books aside from watching movies and TV or listening to music.

What trends are you seeing for 2017/18?

For bridal dresses, I see that the trend is towards the draped sleeves, off-shoulder and minimalist/unembellished dresses. Also lace and very sexy bridal dresses will be popular. Colours will be more exciting, moving to bright and intense colours like yellow, orange, mauve, blue, purple and nudes.

What is your signature dish?

Although I can cook several dishes I love sweets more than anything. So honestly, I do not have a signature dish but I have a signature sweet. It is called “Crema de Fruta” and what’s good about it is you do not need to bake anything. You only cook the crème and the fun part is building it together and decorating it. However, it involves a lot of preparation and correct measurements of ingredients plus the tricky part of pouring the right consistency and temperature of clear jelly on top of the decorated sweet without ruining it!

Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love work on?

If I could turn the time back, I would love to work on the wedding of Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas. I think it would be truly exciting and challenging not only because of the difference in their age but also in their social status and cultural backgrounds. Catherine is a new actress who moved to Hollywood from Wales in the United Kingdom with an Irish Catholic mother and a Welsh father whilst Michael on the other hand is a well establish Hollywood actor and producer with Jewish father and an English Anglican mother. Catherine and Michael are coincidentally both born on 25th September.

The opportunity to combine culture, tradition, religion and social status would be a task and a challenge. Celebrity marriage is always a high profile event. It is a big responsibility but once you succeed, would be very rewarding.

What is your vice?

Prosecco, cakes, chocolates and salted caramel sweets of any type and shape plus . . . shopping!
