Today we are very pleased to introduce you to Phil Drinkwater Photography. Over to you Phil…
How did it all start?
I was originally working as a fashion photographer, which is where I learned so much about lighting and energy in photos. However, everything came out looking “beautiful”, which isn’t always right for fashion, so I switched to weddings which seems to suit my eye more.
Do you have a favourite venue?
I would say Santorini Gem in Santorini, Knowlsley Hall in the North West or Claridges in London.
How would clients describe you?
Fun and friendly, helpful and gets on with everyone. I really enjoy being at weddings and that really comes across. I also have a real attention to detail and have been called a “ninja” because I seem to be everywhere at once.
Wedding planners or suppliers you particularly admire?
Mat at Red Floral for his “no holds barred” dedication to making everything look so amazing.
How do you unwind?
When I get the chance, I like to cycle or hike. I also love to travel and make time to visit as many counties as I can. I’ve been all over.
What trends are you seeing for 2017/18?
More interest in diverse styles of photography with fewer people just following the “same old”.
What is your signature dish?
I’m particularly well known for creating beautiful salads with fresh and exciting ingredients!
Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love work on?
Leonardo DiCaprio. I respect him as an actor, and a person.
What is your vice?
Sweet treats I’m afraid! I’m all about the pudding!
