Introduce Steve Hood Films

So happy to be able to introduce you to Steve Hood Films, a wedding filmmaker.

How did it all start?

Way back in 1993 when I got Married we borrowed a friend’s VHS tape Camcorder and made a little video of our own, and that was it, after a few years of filming Family and Friends Weddings I decided to turn professional and things just took off from there.

Do you have a favourite venue?

Not really, No. I am at Hengrave Hall in Suffolk quite a lot and I really like it there, but I love filming at different venues and in different countries. Last year I filmed at a Monastery in Cyprus which was very different and quite challenging, but it was a fantastic adventure with a fun loving couple and we all went on a boat trip together around the island which I also filmed.

How would clients describe you?

I get a lot of feedback from couples who say they hardly noticed I was around on the day, so I think discreet and experienced is probably accurate.

Wedding planners or suppliers you particularly admire?

I really like Philip White who is probably the best  UK based Destination Wedding Videographer, I have worked alongside Philip and attended his workshops and he has been a big influence on me.

How do you unwind?

I like to spend time at home with my family, we have two dogs and two cats and I enjoy sitting in the garden with a glass of red wine.

What trends are you seeing for 2018/19?

More and more couples are asking about pre-wedding videos or ‘save the date’ videos. It’s something I am looking to progress.

What is your signature dish?

I like to cook and eat Indian food, I am vegetarian and my favourite dish is Mushroom Madras.

Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love work on?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

What is your vice?

Chips and Mushy peas.
