Delighted to be able to introduce to you Urban Cinematography. Over to Apos and Johanna…
How did it all start?
Way back some 15 something years ago an opportunity arose to film some weddings for a Photographer who worked extensively in Greece, at first it was Apos who filmed everything and myself who sat at home editing what he had shot, over time we started to go and film together mainly because I was jealous of all the lovely events he was attending! This was the beginning of our company and now we have a solid company structure which works really well for us.
Do you have a favourite venue?
We have a lot of Venues we love, but Claridges is our favourite Venue, the service is second to none and the Ballroom is ideal for any Event as the space is very cohesive, and compact which creates a lovely ambience. It just works really well.
How would clients describe you?
Our clients will refer to us as the lovely couple who come across just like their emails. Our couples feel at ease with us and we have had some lovely compliments over the years which include, they are warm, funny and the ultimate professionals.
Wedding planners or suppliers you particularly admire?
A couple of wedding Planners who I admire are:
Lindy Dowling, Lindy Dowling Events she is calm, hard working completely hands on and a joy to be around, Every wedding we have worked on together has been a complete success and the clients have been overjoyed at the outcome. I admire her calmness and her ability to tackle the unexpected.
Lydia Yianni Love Lydia Weddings & Events Lydia is one of the loveliest people I know, she spends time with her clients and nothing is too much trouble, she always sends perfect schedules and her timings on events always work out with military precision. She takes great care of her vendors and understands how important they are in the whole process, this is why I admire Lydia.
Wedding Suppliers I admire for their creativity are:
Leanne Hewitt (Wild About Flowers) Leanne and her team are creative, and push the boundaries on the conventional. Her floral installations are contemporary, Avant Garde when they need to be and full of whimsy for the right occasion.
How do you unwind?
After a hard weekend or a big Event we like to spend time at home, or in the garden pottering around, we both have hobbies which we enjoy which include Kite-surfing and our dogs we also love walking along the beach near where we live.
What trends are you seeing for 2018/19?
Most of our couples are going for Greens and foliage, with the usual blush tones as their palette. Romantic ideas are always popular with loose floral arrangements, we are also seeing a lot of Geometry, and Geometric patterns in their planning ideas included in their stationery.
What is your signature dish?
Our signature dish is our attention to detail, and the details which we incorporate into our films. Most Brides spend months looking for that perfect something, so we love to include all these things which are important to our couples. We also love the idea of creating something at the point of a new beginning.
Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love work on?
Elvis was my ultimate superstar, so his wedding to Priscilla would have been my dream to film. So much glamour and Luxury would have looked spectacular on film.
What is your vice?
Kite-surfing & Cake! in that order.
