Member Focus – Your Fabulous Wedding

Delighted to be able to introduce to you Your Fabulous Wedding, over to you Julie…
How did it all start?
I worked in Banking as a Project & Programme Manager for a long time (we don’t need to talk about how long that was!)
I knew that I needed to do something different and I really wanted to work for myself. My experience means I can plan anything, no matter how big or complicated and I adore weddings so the two just came together naturally.
Do you have a favourite venue?
I love tipi weddings so anywhere that can hold a tipi works for me. I also love venues that are flexible and can really be tailored to a client’s style.
Last year I was lucky enough to plan a wedding at Eastnor Castle in Hereford which is stunning.
I have recently discovered a new venue at Robin Hoods Bay called Secret Seaview. It’s an old chapel, with fantastic sea views and has such a lovely feeling in the chapel. You can feel the history in the room, there’s something really special about it.
How would clients describe you?
Friendly, approachable, calm with great attention to detail.
How do you unwind?
I love to spend time with my ever growing family (my Christmas present list is enormous!) and friends. I also love my holidays in the sun with a good book on my kindle and a glass of wine.
What trends are you seeing for 2018/19?
More and more couples veering away from tradition and wanting to design their own day to suit them which is great for planners!
What is your signature dish?
The classic Sunday roast.
Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love work on?
Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff. I know he’s already married but I’d love to work with him. I think he’s lovely and he makes me laugh.
What is your vice?
Chocolate.
