Member Showcase: Cherry Topped
5th January 2011

Today we continue our series of Showcase Weddings from our Members with the wedding of Clare & Adrian which was managed by Stacey-Marie of Cherry Topped Bespoke Weddings. We hand over to Stacey-Marie to explain more about this wedding.
Clare and Adrian wanted a subtle, magical and fun Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland theme, that would have accents of country vintage and a touch of tartan to honour Adrian’s heritage in amongst the design.
Some key elements that brought out their design were:
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
- Homemade invitations, orders of service and table names using the character names and original Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland images
- Vintage teapots filled with flowers as table centres to give a hint from the Mad Hatter’s tea party
- Little notes on the teacups saying “Hide Me, Find Me” and “Eat Me”
- Little notes on the bottles of wine saying “Drink Me”
- Confetti in organza bags for guests with little notes saying “Throw Me”
- Homemade cupcakes in boxes for each guest “Everybody has won and all must have prizes”
- “Through the Looking Glass” style guest book, with a gilt frame, oversized White Rabbit and Mad Hatter hats and a Love Me Not teapot for guests to use as props
Country Vintage
- Vintage rose “Belle rose” was used throughout, a rose that shares the nickname given to Clare by her sister
- Flowers tied with ribbons hanging from the chandeliers
- Birdcages filled with flowers accompanied by baroque painted birds
- Vintage teacups filled with mini eggs to honour the Easter weekend
- Ornate silver table name holders with vintage Alice in Wonderland images printed on aged cream table name card
- Place names pegged to glasses with floral covered hearts, tulips and daisies
- Shabby Chic wire hearts to hold the table plan cards, hung with ribbon
- Rustic hog roast for dinner
Tartan
- Groom in his family tartan
- Biodegradable tartan heart confetti mixed in with rose petals
- The male buttonholes were accompanied by small tartan covered buttons
- Tartan ribbons tied to jam jars collected for tea lights and tied into the Bride and Bridesmaid bouquets
