NYC Study Tour – Day Three

So, it’s been a while since we updated you on our wonderful Study Tour to New York City back in October.

Clearly we’ve had lots to blog about in the meantime, but we couldn’t leave out what, for a bunch of Wedding Planners, was probably the most exciting day of all as we met 3 inspirational talented wedding suppliers in New York.

Our day started with a meeting at Ceci New York where we met with owner Ceci Johnson. We were awed by her studio which was a delight on the senses, we wanted to touch everything on display. The imagination that Ceci has is just astounding and we all left desperate to work with Ceci in the future. We learnt that not only does Ceci make the stationery she quite often creates a design that is used elsewhere like on cushions! Ceci is a beautiful lady, inside and out and we were thankful to have met her.

Then thanks to one of our lovely members, Michelle, ofPierre Carr Weddings, we had the opportunity to meet with the one and only Preston Bailey – creator and designer extraordinaire to the rich, the famous, and – form what we could glean from our time with him – the downright lucky!

Why lucky? Because Preston, for all his innate talent and inspirational designs, was one of the most humble, enchanting people any of us had ever met. Rather than wowing us with all his incredible abilities, he was genuinely interested in our own individual businesses, the ins and outs of how it all works in the UK and the issues we all face.

Take a look at us here, with the man we were all so keen to meet, taking the time to pose with UKAWP planners.

Thank you so much Preston – you are now even more of an inspiration to us all than you were before.

You might think that would have been a hard act to follow, but no ……. we then moved on to meet with Dan Fehlig of The Upper Crust who was phenomenally generous with his time and talked us through his interesting business.

Known as excellent event caterers, The Upper Crust also own the venue they are based in, which doubles as a gorgeous, and fabulously flexible event space called 91 Event Space . So, clients have the option of hiring Dan and his team to cater elsewhere in NYC, but they also have the option of creating exactly what they want, in this versatile space.

Thanks so much Dan for showing us some of the many ways in which you and your team have molded the space to meet clients’ requirements.

Another wonderful day in NYC, after which we enjoyed a fun packed evening in The Village.
