Summary/Description of the day

Jean and Rob wanted the day to be quintessentially English, in contrast to their complex Indian ceremony that we had also planned the day before.  The private Manor House Kirtlington Park in Oxfordshire provided the perfect backdrop to the day, and the exclusive use made the celebration seem even more intimate.   Jean wanted the main colour to be a strong purple so we added touches of gold against white which looked really striking.

–        The flowers were created by ‘Fabulous Flowers’ and the table arrangements were tall and domed in a variety of different shades of purple, with small lower votives in-between.

–        The cake was kept classic with piping detail but adorned with real and bold purple orchids.

–        There were a few quirky touches such as the table plan which was suspended inside an old white picture frame, and the guest cards were decorated with a sketch of the house, styled against old books and cameos.

–        Guests kept cool by sipping pink Champagne with raspberries or elderflower pressé with blueberries, whilst listening to the string quartet in the private manicured gardens.

–        To finish the overall look of the day the house was lit up by strong purple uplighters both in the entrance corridor and outside.
