One of the best aspects of being a member of the UKAWP is the support and friendship you build with other planners. Not only can we go to each other for business advice, we can also be there to assist each other at weddings. This also extends to working together on styled shoots which was exactly what Alexandra Merri of The Bijou Bride and I did when photographer Laura Babb asked us to work with her.

With the fabulous Asylum in South London (a true hidden gem available for wedding ceremonies) as the backdrop and taking inspiration from the use of anatomically correct hearts, along with E.E. Cummings’ quote “I carry your heart with me, I carry it in my heart” for the shoot’s styling, on the day of the shoot I styled the tablescape and dessert table while Alexandra masterfully styled all the fashion elements for our bride and groom.

Wedding dresses were provided by designers Sally Lacock, Faith Barber, and Wilden Bride London with shoes and accessories by Emmy Shoes,  Fumbalina and Rene Walrus and suits from Beggar’s Run. The fabulous hair and makeup was by Sharon Roberts Hairdressing and Ana Ospina

For flowers we had Jodie from Boutique Blooms to create beautiful arrangements in deep reds and purples and to add a touch of opulence I used lots of silver and luxurious fabrics in the tablescape. Stationery was hand drawn by Luke Thrush and we had prosthetic hearts by Sally Alcott.

The wonderful cakes and sweet treats for the dessert table I styled were provided by Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium.
