Styled Shoot by Something Blue Weddings & Events

As a wedding planner at Something Blue I get asked all the time to create a bride’s childhood vision of their perfect day with a modern take on the thoughts of a little girl’s dream. When I heard that a new Cinderella film was being released it encouraged me to create a photo shoot inspired by the fairytale and show couples how we can create a stylish and chic version of their childhood dream.

The main colours of the shoot were blues and greys with lots of emphasis on pastels, which are a huge trend in the wedding industry at the moment; and my personal favourite to work with!

I wanted to assemble a team of Sussex’s finest wedding suppliers to showcase what the county has to offer.

When looking for a venue I wanted to use a barn as you have so many options because usually they are the ideal a blank canvas. In my search I found Grittenham Barn near the stunningly beautiful village of Petworth. It has a wonderful setting, featuring a wood burning feature fireplace and fairy light wall, it was perfect.

The shoot featured a stunning Naomi Neoh dress from White Mischief Bridal and whimsical flowers from Angel Like Flowers which was complemented by cakes from Willow & Bloom and calligraphy from the lovely Claire at Calligraphy for Weddings. What’s not to be swept off your feet with that line up! Teamed with the very talented Rachel at Wallflower Photographic’s natural style with a camera the shoot was ready to go.

Hannah our model was perfect with her English rose looks she created Cinderella perfectly, Hair & make up was from Sanni-Mari Sorma, who has recently relocated to England after working with some of the top wedding professionals in Paris.

For the cakes I wanted to use something really special to make the incredible detail which Willow & Bloom cakes are renowned for stand out. For this I opted for a rose gold sequin tablecloth from Bee Gilded Linens which fitted the shoot perfectly.

One of my favourite trends at the moment is mini flower displays with singular flower heads in crystal bud vases, this is a great way of creating a wow effect without having to spend thousands on weddings flowers, matched with lots of candles it can create a wonderful ambiance to even the simplest of spaces. On this shoot I also used real petal confetti from The Confetti Cone Company to bring the element of the outside in.

This shoot really was a joy to organise and be part of, thank you to all the suppliers involved and I hope you like it!
