Wedding Planners Skills for Success: Confidence

Becoming a wedding planner is not something you can entirely learn from a course, a lot is to do with personality and personal attributes. There is no escaping the fact that having some life experience and maturity helps in this job. You need to think on your feet and offer solutions at a drop of a hat.
1. Confidence (the quality of being certain of your abilities or of having trust in people, plans, or the future”)
A successful wedding planner is confident and knowledgeable. You should never ever say “I don’t know” when asked a question. If you don’t know the answer then you should say “Let me look into that for you”. You should always be positive and enthusiastic, even when problems occur. Remember you are being paid for your experience and knowledge; clients should have faith in you at all times.
You have to have the confidence that you WILL be/ ARE a fabulous wedding planner; if you doubt yourself then others will doubt your capability as well.
