Wedding Planners Skills for Success: Personality
20th February 2013

Becoming a wedding planner is not something you can entirely learn from a course, a lot is to do with personality and personal attributes. There is no escaping the fact that having some life experience and maturity helps in this job. You need to think on your feet and offer solutions at a drop of a hat.
6. Personality (“the type of person you are, which is shown by the way you behave, feel and think”)
When a couple choose you as their wedding planner, a huge deciding factor is your personality and discretion. They need to feel relaxed in your company and invariably will confide in you with personal worries. If they feel intimidated by you then it is unlikely they will put their trust in you. It is also common for clients to stay in touch after the wedding and this is always helpful should you need to contact them for references.
