Showcase Wedding - Kim White Weddings

28 September, 2016

Today we are delighted to showcase a wedding coordinated by Kim White of Kim White Weddings. Over to you Kim…

The Wedding of James Crookes and Trisha Siegel on 25th June 2016, KZN, South Africa

Along the rugged sunny shores of Kwa-Zulu Natal’s South Coast, an American beauty Trisha and her South African prince charming James chose the beautiful Renishaw chapel to say ‘I Do’. The Crookes family has been associated with the Renishaw Farm, where the chapel was built, since 1860. Steeped in history the chapel formed the most exquisite backdrop for the very special ceremony of James and Trisha.

Cocktails and canapes followed in the stunning gardens of Lynton Hall. A traditional, colonial and regal ambience was created while the guests enjoyed classical melodies of a string quartet.

The reception was held in a marquee. Guests sat at long banquet tables, adorned with candle light and crystal glasses. The Crookes wedding was nothing short of elegance and splendour.

What made this wedding even more spectacular was the incredible love you could feel between James and Trisha and the support and care from all their family and friends!

Showcase Wedding - Benessamy Weddings and Events

9 May, 2016

Today we are delighted to showcase a wedding coordinated by Val Mattinson of Benessamy Weddings and Events. Over to you Val…

Chris and Maebellyne’s Mad Men Inspired Wedding at Norwood Park

When Chris and Maebellyne first contacted me they were primarily interested in our venue finding service for their UK destination wedding. With their busy careers and their Zurich location, they subsequently realised they needed help with all aspects of their wedding plans.

They booked our full wedding planning service for their wedding and chose to style the day with a Mad Men theme, incorporating elements of Filipino tradition into their ceremony.

I conducted an extensive venue search for Chris and Maebellyne which led to them selecting the beautiful Norwood Park near Southwell in Nottinghamshire for their reception and the Barnbygate Methodist Church in Newark for their ceremony.

Following a detailed design consultation Chris and Maebellyne chose to style the day with a Mad Men theme and incorporated elements of Filipino tradition into their ceremony.

As part of our full wedding planning service we sourced a fabulous team of quality wedding suppliers.

We also:

  • identified guest accommodation options
  • made rehearsal dinner reservations
  • provided wedding day guest survival kits
  • organised a last minute clay pigeon shoot for the groom and his team on the morning of the wedding!

I really enjoyed working with Chris and Maebellyne and was thrilled when they agreed to share their experience of planning a wedding from abroad in this special post over on our blog http://www.benessamy.co.uk/how-to-plan-a-wedding-from-abroad.html

They also wrote this lovely testimonial about our wedding planning service:

“On the morning of the wedding, Chris and his friends went out clay pigeon shooting. I on the other hand went for a leisurely run around Norwood Park. Several of our friends along with the hair stylist and make-up artist commented that they’d never seen anyone so completely calm before getting married.

As much as we’d love to claim we have nerves of steel, we in fact have Val and Anna to thank for everything! Val provided us with her Full Wedding Planning service which meant she helped us every step of the way from choosing a location, finding fantastic suppliers to liaising with the local Register offices and then pulling all the details together on the big day. We were so calm because we knew the team had everything under control and that things would just run smoothly.

Planning a wedding can be hard enough at times but when you’re doing it from hundreds of miles away I’d imagine it adds a whole other level of stress. Thankfully we have no clue what that other level of stress feels like because we had Val. She kept us on track, offered support when needed and gave us ideas we never would have come up with on our own. The day itself could not have gone any better. Our guests still talk about the wedding and how much fun they had.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Val so if you’re thinking about hiring Benessamy…do it!”

Showcase Wedding - Always Andri

22 February, 2016

Today we are delighted to showcase a wedding designed and planned by one of our Regional Ambassadors, Andri Benson of Always Andri Wedding Design. Over to you Andri…..

When Nic and Rich first approached me to help them plan their wedding they knew they wanted something different as they were keen to have a really laid back informal day all at one London wedding venue.

London Wedding 2

After an extensive search I found them the fabulous Royal Geographical Society which not only gave us the flexible spaces to create the relaxed vibe they were after but also fitted their travel wedding theme.

London Wedding 1

For the ceremony I created an autumnal coloured ribbon backdrop and guests were seated on benches. Following the ceremony we rearranged the benches into informal seating areas around the food stations-each one representing their favourite cuisines-curry, fajitas and burgers-that guests could put together themselves.

Nic and Rich were a wonderful couple to work with and they had these words of wisdom to pass onto other couples:

“Hire a wedding planner! It was definitely the best thing we did considering what a nightmare it could have been planning it while living in different cities. It would have made our precious weekends together all about wedding details. We both loved the planning process and Andri kept us excited about it the whole way through”

Andri Benson is one of our Regional Ambassadors for London and Southeast.

Gold & Glamour by Something Blue Weddings

19 January, 2016

When Gemma Sutton asked me to be part of this Gold & Glamour styled wedding photoshoot at Botley’s Mansion I was delighted. It was the most incredible shoot to work on with some of London’s top wedding professionals.

My brief was to create a glamorous gold tablescape for the shoot. A gold wedding can be chic and stylish but it can so easily become tacky! I really wanted to incorporate the vintage glamour trends which are so prominent in fashion at the moment with sequins being the leading aspect of the trend.

To create a stunning table I’m a big believer in levels, you need to mix heights to have the wow impact in my opinion. The large floral centrepiece from Jay Archer dominated the centre and I wanted to bring in some unusual shapes to create some interest to the table. I did this by contrasting the modern hexagonal candle holders from Classic Crockery with the timeless gold candlesticks and vintage table name frame which I sourced from eBay. The cake from Willow & Bloom reflected the opulence of the venue perfectly with modern hues of gold glitter to tie in with the table. Calligraphy always adds a touch of glamour and the wonderful Judy Broad agreed to create a suite of stationary and escort cards to complement the look. Even more delightful is that it’s also featured in the February / March edition of You & Your Wedding Magazine.
