Today we are pleased to introduce one of our newest members, Annette who runs Eternal Events

How did it all start?

Well, I have always had an eye for detail, I have a wealth of organisational experience from over 16 years in the Financial Services industry; I have been a Personal/Executive Assistant to company Directors and CEO’s and an Office Manager.

I later went on to work as an Events Fundraiser for a charitable organisation. I arranged all sorts of fundraising events such as Balls, Ladies Ascot day lunches, Fashion Shows and many more.

Since that I regularly got asked by friends and colleagues would I mind helping to arrange their weddings. One lady called off her wedding, and when I spoke to her and said I am sorry to hear you are no longer getting married. She replied, “oh no we are still together but I really cannot be bothered to organise it all”. She said if you organise it for me so that all I have to do is turn up on the day, that would be great!

Do you have a favourite venue?

Yes my favorite venue is Carden Park. I love the long driveway leading up to it.

How would clients describe you?

Friendly, caring, approachable, and dependable.

Wedding planner you admire?

All of them! It’s a tough job, you are all perfectionists and creative.

How do you unwind?

I take my two dogs for a walk then put my feet up with a nice glass of wine.

What themes are you working on for 2010/11?

I have a lot of enquiries for marquee weddings with magicians, Ice Cream Carts and string Quartets.

A lot of brides are having Boudoir Photography done as a wedding present to their groom.

I am booked in for mine in April!

What trends are you seeing?

I am still seeing Cadbury’s purple theme although I thought that was last year’s colour.

Also, bird cages.Everyone wants bird cages.

What is your signature dish?

Chicken, stuffed with haggis, wrapped in Parma ham, served on a bed of leek mash with a whisky cream sauce. Mmmm.

Whose celebrity wedding (dead or alive) would you love to design?

Katherine Jenkins but no chance now the engagement has been called off.

Is the job as glamorous as you thought?

Yes, it’s fantastic. It has its moments but I could not think of a better job and at least you are your own boss and accountable for yourself.

What is your vice?

– Wine but I have to be good for my figure. 18 weight watchers points in a bottle!
