Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the London Mix and Mingle at the Caledonian Club 30th September.

We had over 120 people come along and it was fabulous to see so many UKAWP members and wedding industry colleagues mixing and mingling after a busy wedding season.

It was rather special this year as we are also celebrating 15 years in business.

Our owner, Bernadette Chapman, launched the UKAWP in 2004 as a partnership organisation for professional wedding planners in the UK. The industry has gone through incredible changes since those early days, but Bernadette and the UKAWP have always been at the forefront of the changes and supported our members to grow their business and thrive in the industry.

Following Bernadette’s speech on the night, she was surprised with a special video from UKAWP members and her family, thanking her for everything she has done over many years for the wedding profession.

The UKAWP Mix & Mingle has been an annual event for over 10 years. This year we were delighted that the Caledonian Club offered to be our main sponsor and provide the beautiful Johnnie Walker Room for our event. Abigail and everyone at the Caledonian Club were fabulous hosts and were instrumental in helping us create such a lovely atmosphere in the heart of London’s Mayfair.

We would also like to thank Lyndsey Taylor at Park Lane Events for arranging for the event to take place at the Caledonian Club.

The weather outside was frightful, so it was a such a lovely welcome for our guests to be greeted with a gorgeous glass of Freixenet and we are so grateful that they were are welcome drink sponsor.

The stunning grazing table and delicious food for the evening was provided by the wonderful Dani May-McCallum of The Curated Kitchen. So many gorgeous goodies to feast on and it all looked so beautiful.

 

To celebrate the 15^th Anniversary Dani presented Bernadette with this lovely cake.

We were so delighted when Andrea and the team from Olive and Pineapple said they would provide the cocktails on the night.  The bar looked fantastic and the delicious cocktails flowed all evening. Such a treat!

What better way to celebrate old friendships and new connections than over a doughnut, provided by Stylish Events.

The super talented Andreea Coma from Your Flower Story London, who is also a member of the UKAWP, added that extra touch of glamour to our décor for the evening with her elegant flowers arrangements and flower arch.

Entertainment was provided by the beautiful soprano Laura Nadia Hunt. Laura was also our gorgeous model for our annual UKAWP Photo Shoot, which took place at the Caledonian Club the day before the party. More on the photo shoot to come once it’s published!

What party is complete without a photo booth and this year Nishit Parmar, who is a fantastic photographer and UKAWP member, brought along his boomerang booth, which was huge fun.

We always try to do things a little differently with our name badges and this year Stylish Events created our badges, goody bags, including our gift of a “cuddle in a cup” and all the stationery for the party.

We also wish to give a very special mention to the lovely Kirsty McCall for doing Bernadette’s Hair and Make Up for the event.

A big thank you to Nicola from Propose PR for all her help and support with the event and to her husband Craig for creating the surprise video for Bernadette.

And finally, a huge thank you to our organising committee Stephanie from Safe and Sound Event Childcare,  Mary from Weddings By Mary, Soniamarie from Soniamarie Loves and Dominique, Nicola and Stephanie from Stylish Events.
